Haze produced while imaging within the surgical cavity. Two surgical cavities shown. Images of each cavity were captured before and after condensation buildup on the optical window of the drape (3-5Â s later). Change in average colour (coloured squares beside each image) of each cavity had \(\overline{\Delta E} > 40\) following condensation. Image quality also suffered following condensation buildup: details obscured and colours of all tissues converged to brown-green. In each image, \(\Delta E\) between an adipose and connective tissue region were calculated; the addition of the haze reduced the contrast between these tissue types in both cavities
